Welcome Back!
It is with great anticipation that we begin August and a new school year. A new year means a new beginning, new friends, and new teachers. Here’s a brief synopsis of things done this summer and upcoming events this school year:

	The P.I.E. group and school district teamed together to make several improvements on the elementary playground. Check it out. P.I.E. had received a $10,000 grant to help with this project from the local foundation.
	P.I.E. was recognized with the governor’s service award—well deserved. Congratulations.
	Parents of High School and Middle School students now have access to our student grading database online. This means that parents can see what assignments are missing, what grades were received, and attendance.
	Mass Calling - coming soon parents will able to sign for notification via cell phone of school closings and early dismissals.
	We continue to work on fine-tuning our strategies in teaching reading, math, and science The percent of students who are proficient keep rising. The number of students in our special education programs keep reducing. Our elementary teachers are well trained to diagnose reading problems and to develop strategies for improvement.
