School Board Elections
The annual school election shall take place on the second Tuesday of September. Each annual school election shall be used to elect at least two lay citizens to the board to maintain a seven member school board of directors and to address other questions that must be put before the voters.
Citizens of the school district seeking a school board seat must have filed their nomination papers with the school board secretary, or their designee, between 64 and 40 days before the school election unless directed otherwise. Citizens of the school district seeking a school board seat through a special election must file their nomination papers twenty-five days before the special election.
It shall be the responsibility of the county commissioner of elections to conduct school elections.
