Tobacco Free
The Davis County Board of Education believes it has a responsibility to promote healthy living and to create a safe and healthy environment for all students, employees, and visitors to the district.
All school district owned or operated buildings and motor vehicles shall be off limits for smoking and the use of tobacco products, except in designated areas. This policy extends to all school district personnel and visitors, and shall be in effect at all times. Employees shall not smoke or use tobacco products when supervising students, on or off school property, except in designated areas. Employees found to be in violation of this policy shall receive the following:
1. Oral reprimand 2. Second oral reprimand 3. One written reprimand 4. One day suspension without pay 5. One-three days suspension without pay 6. One-five days suspension without pay
Persons violating this policy shall be asked to refrain from smoking or using other tobacco products while on school property. Persons failing to abide by this request shall be asked to leave district premises immediately.
It shall be the responsibility of the Superintendent to develop administrative regulations in concert with this policy.
