EDUCATION PROGRAM
Graduation Requirements
Students must successfully complete each grade level, grade one through grade twelve, and complete all the required courses of study prior to graduation, as determined by the Iowa Department of Education and the Davis County Community School Board.
It shall be the responsibility of the superintendent to ensure that students complete grades one through twelve. Each student is required to complete a prescribed number of credits to graduate.
Davis County Schools - 48 credits
Each student will complete a minimum of:
Language Arts - 8 units-including English I, English II, English III
Mathematics - 6 units - including a freshman math course, sequential sophomore course and Consumer Math as a senior if no other math was taken.
Science - 6 units - to include Biology
Social Studies - 7 units - including Geography, World History, American History and American Government.
Computer Applications - One semester of Computer Applications.
Health - One semester - at 9th grade.
Physical Education - required of each student each semester of enrollment as per State Standards.
The required courses of study shall be reviewed by the board annually.
Graduation requirements for special education students will be in accord with the prescribed course of study as described in their Individualized Education Program (IEP).
