The program has had one individual State Champion - Jennifer Hubbartt in 1986. As a team the girls finished 6th in both 1984 and1986, 10th in 1985 and 15th in 1988. The boys team placed 11th in its only appearance in 1981. Other top finishers at State were: Tom Hill 4th, Dawn Pearson 7th, Jennifer Hubbartt 9th, Joel Kincart 12th,Kathy Allen 17th, Jennifer Hubbartt 18th.
No District/Regional individual champions but the girls team were Champions in 1986.

History of DC Cross Country Track coach Dennis Anderson started the very first CC which just ran a little in 1974. At first there were team mile races before football games. The first official CC coach was Mark Warren who coached from 1977-1986. Coach Linda Rowe then took over in 1987 to the present time. The first official year for girls cc was 1981. The course distance for both boys and girls was 2 miles from 1977 to 1987 when the boys distance was increased to 3.1 miles or 5 kilometers. The girls distance was then changed to 2.48 miles or 4 kilometers in 2002. A total of 141 boys and 81 girls have participated since 1977.
