Davis County Schools are moving forward with technology. Seven
Promethean interactive whiteboards are being installed in both
elementary and middle school classrooms. The board and projector
combination allows the teacher to replicate their computer screen onto
the Promethean board. The teacher can then use the tools included with
the software to apply different learning techniques and visual effects
making the lesson interactive. Teachers can incorporate the boards into
their daily lesson plans to help provide students with yet another
avenue for learning.
Several teachers had the opportunity to participate in a two-day
training session sponsored by Great Prairie AEA. The training session
was held to help teach and show lessons using the board and its
limitless functionality.
"It is really exciting to see all the new Promethean Boards up and
running in the Middle School. I can't wait to start incorporating some
of my math lessons around my board and get my students involved using it
as well," says Mrs. Stevenson.
"The question I always ask myself is how can I help make social
studies engaging for my students? I truly believe using technology daily
in the classroom can and will optimize learning, enhance students
inquiry and promote achievement. I am ex-cited to have a Promethean
Board in my classroom to provide an engaging opportunity for learning
World Geography and American History," says Mrs. Cook.
