The dates for this year's Iowa Youth Tour are June 15-21, 2024. Students can get information by going to www.iowayouthtour.com or www.sie.coop (the Iowa Youth Tour information is in the Community & Econ Dev tab). Any sophomore, junior or senior high school student in SIEC's service territory is eligible to apply -- parents do NOT need to be a member of Southern Iowa Electric Cooperative. Students can apply January 1st through February 28th.
NEW THIS YEAR... the Iowa Association of Electric Cooperatives (IAEC) is having a contest to create this year's Iowa Youth Tour T-shirt design. Students across Iowa, grades 9-12, can create a unique design for the 2024 Iowa Youth Tour. If selected, the winner will receive $300 in cash! T-shirt designs must be submitted by midnight, March 1st. Designs should be accompanied by an application found at www.iowayouthtour.com and uploaded to Dropbox.
Since this trip is focused on learning more about government and our nation's history, the T-shirt theme centers around the seven cooperative principles and leadership. Students can learn more about the cooperative principles at www.iowayouthtour.com. Iowa must be referenced in the design. IAEC welcomes students to use their imagination to create an eye-catching and meaningful design. This contest is open to any high school student in Iowa.
