Checking-in with our legislative page, Zack Proctor on his first day!
He is working in Speaker Pat Grassley’s office from January 12th through April 21st, 2026. In this role, he will assist the Speaker with the day-to-day operations of the Iowa House. His responsibilities will include delivering messages, operating microphones, and assisting committees. He will also help manage paperwork, track bills as they move through the legislative process, and assist with special tasks assigned directly by the Speaker.
Zack will be living five minutes from the Capitol, which will allow for easy travel on frequent early mornings and late evenings during busy legislative days. He will be working Monday through Thursday while completing his schoolwork online.
He says, "This experience will give me a close view of leadership in the Iowa House and allow me to contribute to the Speaker's efficiency while learning how the state government works behind the scenes."
Enjoy your time at the Capitol, Zack! We know you will make us proud!
