Important Update to Meal Policy and Student ID Requirements
Important Update to Policy 710.04: Meal Charge and Unpaid Meal Policy

Dear Families,

We want to keep our families informed about a recent change to District Policy 710.04: Meal Charge and Unpaid Meal Policy and remind everyone about the importance of student ID badges during meal service.

Ala Carte Purchases

Under the updated policy, students may not charge ala carte items if they do not have sufficient funds in their account. Students must have money available in their meal account in order to purchase ala carte items.

Please review your student's meal account regularly and ensure that funds are available if your student wishes to purchase ala carte items.

Student ID Badges and Meal Service

Each enrolled student in our district receives an ID badge, which is used for several purposes, including serving as the student's lunch card.

It is the responsibility of each student to keep track of and take care of their ID badge.

Beginning with 5th grade through 12th grade, students will need to have their ID badge with them to scan their meal items during breakfast and lunch. This helps to streamline the meal service process and ensure accurate record-keeping.

If a student does not bring their ID badge to breakfast or lunch, they may be asked to go to the end of the line to allow students who have their badges to proceed through the meal line first.

We appreciate your help in reminding your students to bring their ID badge to school each day and to take good care of it. Thank you for helping us keep meal service running smoothly and efficiently for all students.

Sincerely,

The Davis County CSD Nutrition Department
