Dear DC Parents & Community,
Davis County has been fortunate to receive a S.T.O.P. Grant through the Federal Department of Justice that provides funds to support student safety through a variety of training efforts. A large part of this effort is designed to improve the district’s training for emergency drills.
On Monday, November 27, students and staff at the elementary school, middle school and high school will take part in what we are calling a complex fire drill. Monday’s drill will be a little more involved than our “regular” fire drills and aims to assess our ability to think flexibly during a crisis and our communication ability in the event of an emergency. Most students will not notice a difference in this drill, but some may notice that their class follows a little bit different procedure than usual. Consultants from the Strategic Partnership Schools Group will be on site to observe the drill and debrief with leaders after the drill.

Join us in honoring our Veterans!
Our Davis County Horse Evaluation Team is competing at the National FFA Convention today and tomorrow in Indianaplis, Indiana. They are competing against chapters from 46 other states. Today they will be judging 8 classes of horses (halter & performance), giving 4 sets of oral reasons and taking a test over horse breeds and equipment. Tomorrow they will be completing a variety of team events which will include a team presentation and problem solving activities. We would like to wish them the best of luck as they compete!

Senior parents and students are encouraged to attend this free event! Students attending ANY college are welcome to come and learn more about the FAFSA proccess.
Davis County High School picture day is the morning of Thursday, October 12th. Students that have IHCC classes in the mornings may come to the school as early as 7am to get their photo taken. Online students are also welcome to come between 7:30am-9:00am. Please call the HS office with any questions or concerns.

Sophomore Students and Parents,
On Friday, October 6, sophomore students and any juniors and seniors interested, will take the ASVAB Career Exploration Exam. This program provides high quality career exploration and planning materials to high schools throughout the country. It encourages students to explore a wide variety of careers. The ASVAB is the most widely used multiple-aptitude test battery in the world, and will assist students in making decisions about college and/or careers while considering knowledge they have gained about their interests, values, talents and abilities. We will begin senior night at 6:45 pm, between the 9/JV and Varsity game. Parents, please arrive and meet by the flagpole by 6:15 p.m. We will have parents line up in alphabetical order by sport as follows:
Football
Band
Cheer
Cross Country
The XC team will be running the game ball into the stadium around this time as well.
The Cattlemen's will be serving the meal with the help of the DC Cheerleaders.
FRIDAY SEPT 29th- Due to the homecoming parade, the high school will be dismissing at 12:30pm. This is for the HS ONLY! Buses will still run at regularly scheduled times. If bus students need a place to wait, the HS cafeteria will be available. Please call the high school office with any questions or concerns.
