Mustang Pride Day is THIS Wednesday, April 10!! This is a day where DC high school students have the opportunity to give back to the community that gives so much to them by providing spring cleaning services.
Several reminders to students:
PLEASE be sure to dress appropriately! Wear clothes that are okay to get dirty and tennis shoes. Please, no nice clothes or flip flops/sandals.
Bring a water bottle and sunscreen as the weather looks to be warm and sunny!
Bring work gloves and/or rakes if you have them. However, equipment will be provided.
Hot dogs, chips, water, and ice cream will be served in the HS cafeteria for lunch and students will be dismissed for the day at 12:30. Bus students may stay in the cafeteria for the afternoon if they need a place to wait for the bus. Early dismissal is only for HIGH SCHOOL students.
Please direct any questions to the high school office at 641.664.2200 ext 1132.

DCHS Parents,
There are concerns regarding the restrooms at the high school. Please know that restrooms have been and continue to be available to all students at the school in all buildings during the entire school day. Due to recent vandalism in the upstairs boys restroom and multiple accounts of inappropriate behavior, the upstairs restroom was closed for repairs. Maintenance has been completed and all restrooms are now open and available.
As behavior continues to be addressed, please consider having a conversation with your high school student about being respectful to property and taking care of our building. After all, the building belongs to the students and is there to serve them. If students see, hear or know of information that can help the school administration identify and stop bully-like behavior or vandalism please encourage them to report the information to an adult at the high school.
It remains a priority at DCHS to create and maintain an environment where students feel safe and can learn. We appreciate your support and help in being a part of shaping our young adults into great people.

SENIORS! There are two new American Legion Post #78 scholarships for those of you who have relatives who are veterans. Go to https://www.dcmustangs.com/o/davis-county-high-school/page/scholarships for printable application, or hard copies are available in the guidance office. Deadline for both is April 30.

Tips for Testing: Encouragement – Help your child start the day with words of encouragement & positivity. This could be a 2-minute conversation in the morning encouraging them to do their best and recalling/sharing a happy time or memory. Sleep – Get a good night’s rest! Children between the ages of 14 and 17 function best after 8 to 10 hours of sleep per night. Breakfast – Don’t skip breakfast! Eating a healthy and filling breakfast can make you much more aware and boost your cognitive skills! Two factors that can directly impact your test performance. Students may eat breakfast at school beginning at 7:45AM.
