Davis County High School freshman, sophomore, and juniors will be taking the standardized state tests (ISASP) Tuesday, March 28 through Thursday, March 30. Students must arrive by 8AM to begin the assessment. Testing will end at 10AM each day. Seniors will not be testing and do not need to be at school until normal classes start at 10:08AM. Tips for Testing:
Encouragement – Help your child start the day with words of encouragement & positivity. This could be a 2-minute conversation in the morning encouraging them to do their best and recalling/sharing a happy time or memory.
Sleep – Get a good night’s rest! Children between the ages of 14 and 17 function best after 8 to 10 hours of sleep per night.
Breakfast – Don’t skip breakfast! Eating a healthy and filling breakfast can make you much more aware and boost your cognitive skills! Two factors that can directly impact your test performance. Students may eat breakfast at school beginning at 7:45AM.
The 47th Annual Davis County High School Academic Awards Reception was held yesterday evening. DCHS is proud to honor 9th-12th grade students who have excelled academically.
Sophomore through senior students must have been enrolled full-time and have earned at least 3.75 GPA second semester last year and first semester this year to be honored. Full-time enrolled freshman students who have earned a 4.0 GPA their first semester of high school are also honored.

Davis County High School will hold Catch-Up Academy every Wednesday in the HS commons from 3:30-4:45PM. This is open and available to all students. It is an opportunity to work with DCHS teachers in various departments to receive help organizing, completing, and turning in classwork. Re-teaching of academic content will also be available. Snacks and drinks will be provided and the activity bus will be available to transport students who need it in the evening. Please contact the HS office with any questions at 641.664.2200 ext 1132
A Josten’s representative will be at the high school Monday, March 27th, to hand out graduation orders to seniors that ordered announcements etc. These will be handed out during lunch in the cafeteria at 11AM. This is NOT for cap/gown. Cap/gowns will be handed out closer to graduation. Please make arrangements to ensure all items are picked up at this time. ATTENTION SOPHOMORE STUDENTS/PARENTS-
Tuesday, March 21 is Sophomore Day at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa. The entire sophomore class will attend. The bus will leave from the high school at 8:15AM and return at approximately 12:30. Students will be provided with a sack lunch from IHCC. Davis County High School is proud to announce that the annual Mustang Pride day will be held Wednesday, April 12, 2023. This day is dedicated to the students of the high school giving back to the their community by washing, raking, painting and general sprucing up of Bloomfield and the surrounding county communities.
