Many Davis County High School Alumni have inspiring careers to share. We've captured some of them and plan to share more throughout the year. Here's the first one from Deb Smith on her career at W. L. Gore (www.Gore.com/about).
Thank you to those that have already responded. Any DCHS Alumni that wish to share their story with our students, please share here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfQgat1plmxt0DC2De6w3hnuyiFUdFTPp2MepUtQUrypZCyPw/viewform

On Friday morning, September 20, Davis County Schools was made aware of a threat from a high school student through a video posted on Tik Tok. The student who made the video was NOT at school today. Officers were called and responded within two minutes. All buildings went into a lockdown status. Shortly after, it was confirmed that the threat was not credible and the lockdown was lifted. We have emergency protocols in place that worked, we appreciate everyone’s swift response. All students and staff are safe. Thank you to our law enforcement for their immediate help.

Reminder! All Davis County students taking an IHCC course, this school year, need to attend the parent/student meeting tonight at DCHS. Policies, procedures and contracts will be reviewed. Thank you for your partnership!

A message from the Food Service Department...
In order for the kitchen to accommodate your child's food allergy needs, parents must have a Diet Modification form filled out and signed by the child's physician. These must be done annually. Click here for the Diect Modification Request Form: https://5il.co/5xok

Last week, Mr. Rasmussen and Mr. Bunnell had an opportunity to take 4 high school students to the largest D-Day Reenactment in Conneaut, Ohio.
Students were Aaron Cook, Raiyna Hernandez, Maddie Replogle and Oliver Hernandez.
This trip was made possible by the Bloomfield American Legion, especially Ryan Maeder and Nick Morton. Thank you for the incredible opportunity to enrich our Davis County Youth!

A few reminders regarding the DCHS summer meal program:
*Please sign up EACH week with the number of meals you need
.
**Pick up at the high school will begin at 4:30pm and no sooner.
**Today we will begin offering drive up service for meal pick up at the high school. Families are asked to please pull up in front of the main high school doors from the east side and will exit towards the west. A school employee will meet you at your vehicle and get your name and the number of meals. They will then load your vehicle for you and you will be all set! If you do not wish to use the drive up service, you still have the option to park and come inside.
Thank you for your continued support and flexibility!

DCHS Silver Cord Opportunity!

Davis County CSD is pleased to announce that three outstanding leaders will be joining the team this upcoming school year. Please join us in welcoming;
Katie Hash. Katie is joining the district as our Curriculum Director. She is no stranger to Davis County having served as a math consultant for Great Prairie Area Education Agency for the past several years. We are excited to have Katie right here in our district helping all of us continue our growth in teaching and learning throughout the district. Welcome to DC Katie!
Madison Rushing. Madison is joining the district as our new High School Counselor. Being a life-long resident and graduate of Davis County and her experiences working with high schools through Indian Hills Community College and also most recently with Van Buren County school district, she brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and DC spirit to the team. Welcome to DC Madi!
Derek Philips. Derek joins the district as our new High School Principal. Derek has successfully served as a principal in area schools at different levels and also brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team. We were pleased to have representatives from our student body, parents, teachers, and board members all agree that Derek was the right choice for Davis County. Welcome to DC Derek!
Davis County's reputation as a high-quality school district and community is the cumulative effort of so many different people working together over the years. We are excited to have Katie, Madison, and Derek joining our collective efforts to live our motto "One School, One Community, One Goal...The Best That We Can Be!"

The summer lunch program would like to try "drive up" for picking up meals beginning next Monday, June 24. The plan is to have people available to greet you in your car and they will get your name and meal count. Employees will load the meals in your vehicle and you’ll be on your way! We are asking that families please pull up in front of the main high school doors, entering from the east and exiting towards the west. You are still welcome to park and bring your container inside with you should you choose to do so. Thank you for your continued support as we navigate better ways to serve the community.

Important Change Coming

The nutrition department is encouraged by the participation in the summer lunch program. In order to provide the best experience possible for our families, we need to communicate a couple of adjustments to help streamline the process.
First, we will now provide full gallons of white milk versus half gallons. Unfortunately, we will be unable to provide chocolate milk going forward. We encourage families to only take the number of gallons your refrigerator space at home will allow.
Secondly, we will now provide full bags of frozen vegetables instead of individual portions.
We appreciate your support and will continue to communicate changes as we learn new strategies to reduce cost, conserve space, and better serve the needs of our community.
Thank you!
