If you have a MS or HS child who plans to participate in a fall sport (football, cross country, volleyball, cheerleading, etc.) they must have a current physical on file with the school in order to begin practice. Official practices start on August 12th.

Dear Davis County Families,
Our 2024-2025 school year will soon be underway, and we are very excited to have our students back in school for another amazing year. With the new school year approaching, we would like to remind families of all the benefits of completing a Free and Reduced Lunch application. Many of the programs and funding streams that the district uses to provide high quality learning opportunities for our students depend on an accurate measure of the current socio-economic status of our students. Many grants (such as Title, eRate, GearUp, etc.) that we rely on to provide high quality opportunities also use this data to decide who will be awarded funds. In addition to district benefits, there are several ways that families benefit when they complete these applications: free or reduced-price meals, reduced or waived book fees and driver’s education fees; reduced ACT/SAT costs; and benefits in college application processes, to name a few. Completing the application is extremely important in helping families and our district, and we ask that you please fill out an application
You may fill out an electronic application form from the privacy of your own home. We believe this will greatly simplify the process. You may apply electronically at our www.dcmustangs.com website under our registration page. You may also complete a paper copy of the free/reduced price lunch application if you are more comfortable with this format. Please be assured that all information you provide is confidential.
If you have received a letter from our school district that your child/children have already been approved for free/reduced meals for the 2024-2025 school year you DO NOT need to fill out a free/reduced application. Your child/children are good to go for the school year.
Thank you in advance for your help with this important work. Even if you are unsure about whether your family will qualify, we encourage you to complete the application anyway. Many families focus on the fact that they may not qualify for free meals, yet they may be eligible for reduced meals. Because events may occur that impact a family’s financial situation, please know applications are available at all times throughout the school year. Attention DCHS Juniors & Seniors! If you plan to enroll in Indian Hills classes during the 24-25 school year, Mrs. Rushing and an IHCC Representative will be available at the High School Tuesday & Wednesday August 6 & 7 8:00AM-3:00PM to help complete concurrent enrollment registration. 7/8 Activity Schedule Update:
Final games of the summer at Mustang Sports Complex this evening.
The Mustang softball team will play a varsity doubleheader vs Mediapolis beginning at 4:30. The Mustang baseball team will play a JV/Varsity contest vs Washington beginning at 5:30.
Mustang softball will host Wayne tonight for one varsity game starting at 6:00. The game will be the team's annual PINK OUT game. There will also be a silent auction with all proceeds going to DC Walk for Life.
7/2 Activity Schedule Update:
Due to potential hazardous weather this evening the girls softball game vs Wayne has been cancelled. It has been rescheduled for Friday, July 5th at 6:00. Varsity game only.
The boys varsity baseball game will start at 2:00 vs Ft. Madison this afternoon.
7/1 Activity Schedule Update:
The varsity softball game at Moravia will be played first this evening. Start time is 5:30. The JV game will follow.

The varsity baseball game vs Wayne has been cancelled for tonight. It will not be made up.

The 9th baseball games at PCM is being played in Prairie City at the Elementary/MS, not in Monroe this morning. 10am start time.
Davis County CSD is pleased to announce that three outstanding leaders will be joining the team this upcoming school year. Please join us in welcoming;
Katie Hash. Katie is joining the district as our Curriculum Director. She is no stranger to Davis County having served as a math consultant for Great Prairie Area Education Agency for the past several years. We are excited to have Katie right here in our district helping all of us continue our growth in teaching and learning throughout the district. Welcome to DC Katie!
Madison Rushing. Madison is joining the district as our new High School Counselor. Being a life-long resident and graduate of Davis County and her experiences working with high schools through Indian Hills Community College and also most recently with Van Buren County school district, she brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and DC spirit to the team. Welcome to DC Madi!
Derek Philips. Derek joins the district as our new High School Principal. Derek has successfully served as a principal in area schools at different levels and also brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team. We were pleased to have representatives from our student body, parents, teachers, and board members all agree that Derek was the right choice for Davis County. Welcome to DC Derek!
Davis County's reputation as a high-quality school district and community is the cumulative effort of so many different people working together over the years. The middle school softball games vs Fairfield have been moved to the Pizza Hut fields this morning. There will be no concessions.
