Mrs. Byrd's third, fourth, and fifth-grade art students participated in the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) Auxiliary Poster Contest at the end of the 2024-2025 school year for a chance to have their art displayed as part of a national conservation outreach initiative. Each year, the winning posters highlight the work of conservation districts and their state conservation associations, auxiliaries, and agencies to protect and enhance natural resources. The contest starts at the district level; winners advance to the state level, and then to the national level, where they receive recognition at NACD’s annual meeting. The poster contest is open to public, private, and home-schooled students.
The theme for the 2025 contest is “Home is Where the Habitat Is”, Congratulations to the following Davis County students whose conservation posters will advance to the Regionals in the coming months. They are Preslee Henderson 3rd grade, Autumn Stinson 4th grade, and Aislin Bryant 5th grade. More information will be provided to these students as the contest advances.
Special thanks go out to the Davis County Soil and Water Conservation District Commissioners, Felicia Nails, Regional Coordinator for IDALS, and Kim Byrd K-6 Art Instructor.
