What a day it was for staff and students to serve our community! Students worked hard all morning - about running out of time for all the projects. We served over 50 locations throughout Davis County. We were treated to DC Cattlemen's burgers and ice cream - thank you, Davis County Cattlemen!
Thank you DC community for giving us a day outside, serving you and building relationships!

DCMS STUDENTS of the Month!!

Davis County Middle School Students will be taking the standardized state tests (ISASP) Tuesday, March 24th through Friday, March 27th. Fifth and Eighth graders will take a Science test on Friday, March 27th. Students must arrive by 8:15AM to begin the assessment. Testing will end at 10:30 AM each day. Please feel free to contact the MS office at 641.664.2200 ext. 1147 with any questions or concerns.
Tips for Testing:
Encouragement - Help your child start the day with words of encouragement & positivity. This could be a 2-minute conversation in the morning encouraging them to do their best and recalling/sharing a happy time or memory.
Sleep - Get a good night’s rest! Children between the ages 6-12 years old need 9 to 12 hours of sleep per night and teens 13-18 years old need 8 to 10 hours of sleep per night.
Breakfast - Don’t skip breakfast! Eating a healthy breakfast and filling breakfast can make you much more aware and boost your cognitive skills! Two factors that can directly impact your test performance. Students may eat breakfast at school beginning at 7:50AM.

Please see below this great opportunity for Davis County Youth to join the Davis County Crop Scouting Team. The team is open to youth in grades 7th through 12th.
Crop scouting is a great opportunity to learn more about agriculture by identifying weeds, insects, diseases, and other issues that affect crops. Team members also get the chance to build problem-solving skills, gain hands-on experience in the field, and represent our community in competitions.
If you are interested or would like to learn more, please let me know! More information will be coming once youth get signed up! Please sign-up by April 3rd!
