DCMS is SO PROUD of our BIO Girls !
“Remember that the happiest people are not those getting more, but those giving more.” ― H. Jackson Brown Jr.
Service Project day! The full session was used to give back to our community. It’s a great lesson to remind everyone that giving back has no age requirement.
The BIO Girls spent their time today cleaning up the elementary and jr. high school entryways and grounds. They worked hard to get littler and leaves cleaned up as well as cleaned the high touch areas in the entry ways. It is easier to take pride in our school and community (and possibly easier for our brains to think more clearly) when things are cleaned up a bit!!
One gentleman at the school was very appreciative and said this
"is a never ending task, I clean the leaves out and they just blow right back in and oh my, you guys are doing it right. You are bagging it up for us, THANK YOU!"
You made his night ladies! Already making a positive impact!!
Nice work and Thank you!

DCMS 7th grade Medical Detective students meticulously dissecting and labeling the sheep brains in Project Lead The Way (PLTW)! This dissection ties into their studies on brain development.
Dissection is an important part of academia as it helps students learn about the internal structures of animals. Helps students learn how the tissues and organs are interrelated. And gives the students an appreciation of the complexity of life. This lab was a hit for our hands-on learners and future vets/doctors/scientists!
What do you remember dissecting in grade school?

Several Middle School students worked during 1st quarter to create an eight foot by sixteen foot mural in the hallway in front of the Middle School Art Room with help from Mrs. Byrd.
These students worked to incorporate activities students in the building art involved in. Some of these activities include: 4-H, sports, band, music, art, rodeo, theater, bowling, and many more.
We are very proud of their accomplishment! Come check out the mural during parent-teacher conferences this week!

Good Luck Carson Shively! He will run at 11:15.

Why should you go vote on November 2?
You can help Davis County students have new and improved structures and equipment to improve their learning environment.
By going to vote you can help our school stay in the State Secure an Advanced Vision for Education Fund or the SAVE Fund. This Fund helps schools pay for things such as LED lighting in the elementary and middle school, new weight room, multi-purpose room renovations, renovations to the support service building, and so much more.
In order for the school to continue getting SAVE Funds they need to keep the Revenue Purpose Statement or RPS. By keeping this RPS our district will be able to continue making schools better for learning and extracurricular activities.
Where do the SAVE Funds come from?
SAVE Funds come from sales tax money not property money so keeping SAVE Funds will not affect your taxes. Going to the polls on November 2 can allow our school to continue renovations in support of education for the children of Davis County.

Thank you to the Bloomfield Fire Department for educating DCMS on Fire Hazards and Fire Safety! Students & staff enjoyed the interactive lesson on how to properly use a fire extinguisher.
With the holidays fast approaching it is a good idea to remind your child(ren) about what your family plan is in the case of a house fire. Here are some great talking points and advice from the American Red Cross: https://www.redcross.org/get-help/how-to-prepare-for-emergencies/types-of-emergencies/fire/fire-safety-for-kids.html
