Great news!
Our Music Booster Fundraiser items will be delivered to the MS for pick up Monday, May 18th! We don't have the specific times yet because the fundraiser company coordinates with an outside trucking company. We will have more details and guidelines for social distancing when picking up items and delivering to customers when the date gets a little closer.

The middle school and high school math teachers encourage you to take a picture of how you are using math at home and share your picture in the comments.

Attention Elementary and Middle School families!
Lee's Photography will be in the Middle School "S" drive to hand out spring picture packets on Thursday, April 30 from 10:00AM - 1:00PM. If you ordered pictures, please drive through and pick up your packets during this time.

Mrs. Burchett wants to remind you that April is national poetry month. Find a creative way to share a poem you enjoy with others. It can be a favorite poem, a silly poem, or a poem you have written. You can recite it to your family at home, call to share it with a loved one or friend, share a link in the comments below, or create a video to post. Here is a link to a fun poem to get you started http://www.shelsilverstein.com/media/fun/images/PoetTree_1600x1200.jpg.1024x960_q85.jpg

Friday Night in Lights....

During tonight's Light Up Iowa initiative, Mustang stadium lights will come alive at 8:20 (20:20 in military time) and glow for 20 minutes, 20 seconds – a connection to the 2020 lost spring sports season.
Feel free to come by (in your car) and enjoy the show!

A shout out to a few of our essential workers! #DCstrong #supportlocalbusiness

The High School Science Department wants to present a challenge to the high school science students!
Using the Periodic Table:
- You may look up a copy of the Periodic Table or use your own!
- Create words from the symbols (example: Nitrogen gives you the letter N and Oxygen gives you the letter O, creating the word NO)
- Create sentences from the created words
- The symbols must stay in the appropriate letter case (upper versus lower). Refer to the periodic table for help.
Your goal is to create as many words and sentences as possible. Provide a list of the words created as well as the sentences you formulated from your created words!
Feel free to take a picture to share and show your work! #Mustangsloveachallenge

A little note to our kitchen staff... thank you! #Mustangsloveachallenge

Davis County is one of several districts that has partnered with nonprofit companies across Iowa to make parts for face shields that are desperately needed by health care professionals. Mr. Brus has been working each day to make these parts which are then sent to Des Moines where the face shields are put together. Thanks for your hard work, Mr. Brus! #Mustangsloveachallenge

Music Booster Fundraiser Status: All order forms and money have been turned in at this point to our knowledge. The delivery is delayed at this point due to the school closure. The Boosters and directors will be working with the fundraising company and the school to establish a new delivery date when we have a safe location to distribute the items and can safely send students to peoples homes to deliver. We do not know that date yet. We will be making an announcement on the “Davis County High School Band” Facebook page, the school website and Facebook page, and an email to all of our students and parents that have provided the school an email.
Thank you everyone for your patience. This is just one of many things that is up in the air at this time and we will work through it the best we can. Thank you to everyone for your support of the Music Boosters!

Here are the other pictures....I am not sure why they did not upload with the previous post.

Attention Elementary Parents -
In an attempt to streamline our efforts to support voluntary learning at the PK and elementary level during the closure, teachers are developing some suggested weekly activities for our PK through 4th grade students. Please check out the new link with suggested weekly learning activities located on our DC School District Website. Elementary Resources - Suggested weekly activities by grade level! When you open that link you will find a folder for every grade level with suggested activities in all content areas that can be used to support your child’s continued learning anytime during the week. These plans will be updated on Monday of every week moving forward. You can also refer back to look at previous weekly plans. As always you can contact your child’s classroom teacher if you have any questions!

Seniors,
Please know that we will continue to work on making graduation a special occasion. There will be more information posted soon. Check out the football stadium. The lights will be on every Friday evening from 8:00-8:20pm to honor the Class of 2020. Miss seeing you all!
