Fifth grade started learning about space systems this week! Their goal is to discover why the moon sometimes appears during the day, and other times with the stars in the night. They started by doing an experiment to track the sun's position in the sky by measuring shadows.

The next Coaching Authorization class offered by Indian Hills Community College is scheduled Saturday, April 26 and Sunday, April 27 from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm each day.
This course is approved by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners. It is a 55-hour comprehensive coaching education course that, upon successful completion, will provide participants with the essential knowledge and credentials to earn their coaching authorization license. This is a hybrid class, 12 hours of face-to-face classroom and the additional online course work completed at the participant’s own pace. The face-to-face classroom provides a hands-on component so that coaches know what to do in case of an emergency. Participants will learn how to tape an injury or stop a bleed.
At the completion of the course work, participants will take two tests and need an 80% or better pass rate to receive the Coaching Authorization Certificate from IHCC. Once participants pass and receive our certificate, they can complete their application for coaching authorization with the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners, completing all background check forms and submitting all the required fees at www.boee.iowa.gov/licauthorization/coaching-authorization.

The cost of the class is $390 per participant. Credit card payment is required in order to complete the registration.
#DCPreschool visited the Post Office on February 11th to mail their items. Parents provided mailing addresses of loved ones for their preschoolers to send them valentines. How cute!

Supper plans tonight??
Davis County History Club meal at the American Legion is tonight from 5 to 7pm. Tonight's meal is a taco bar. Cost is $10 and gets you a hard or soft shell taco, chips and salsa, dessert and a drink. Proceeds go to the American Legion and the Davis County high school history club. Come and join us tonight!

Emmett Newton beat his opponent 13-5 this morning in the consolation semi finals. He will wrestle Gage Spurgeon from EBF later today in the 3rd place match. Let's finish in style E!
Emmitt Newton loses a heart breaker at the State Wrestling Tournament this evening. He will wrestle again on Saturday morning for a chance at 3rd place.
