The Davis County High School Band competed in the State Marching Band Festival in Pella this past Saturday and earned a I rating, which is the highest a band can earn. What a great way to end an awesome marching season! Congratulations Marching Mustangs!

Middle School Parents:
This is the first year where our middle school winter sports will be a full split season. This means that wrestling and girls basketball will end before winter break and boys basketball will begin after winter break.
Here are the current start dates and practice locations for MS wrestling and MS girls basketball.
Wrestling - October 23rd at the HS wrestling room. 1st meet is November 6th.
Girls Basketball - October 23rd at the MS gym. 1st game is November 6th.
Boys Basketball - TBD. 1st game is January 4th.
Reminder: Kids must have a current physical on file with the school in order to practice.

The High School and 7-8th Grade Bands had an exciting weekend at the Clark County Parade of Champions competition in Kahoka, MO on Saturday. The high school band earned 1st place in both the parade and field show category. The 7-8th Band also earned first place in the MS parade category. Congratulations Marching Mustangs!!

FFA Update: Davis County FFA Soils Judging Team of Trevor Joos, AJ Peterson, Kami Joos and Cayler Wuthrich placed 3rd at District Soils yesterday and earned a spot to compete at the State Soils Judging Contest on Oct. 21st. Davis County FFA has not made it to state soils in over 20 years!
Trevor Joos was also 2nd place overall individual out of 178 students who competed. Fiona Amstutz, Darcy Wiegand and Saydee Westercamp also competed as alternates.

JH Volleyball @ Knoxville Middle School. 4:30 start. Spectators can enter either the Park Lane or Willets Drive entrances to the building. Spectators seating on the bleachers only. 8th grade plays on the rubber court, 7th grade plays on the wood court.

BIO Girls is a self-esteem building program with 12 sessions; combining life-skills, devotions, small group mentoring and non-competitive physical activity (mostly walking, jogging, running).

Mrs.Byrd's 3rd-5th Grade will have an art display at the Pulaski Corn Show this weekend! It will be a coloring contest using the corn show theme this year of the Wizard of Oz. Students have been working hard on their coloring skills and using their imaginations to add color to this drawing.
Art work will be displayed in the Art Hall at the Pulaski Park this weekend for the public to see. Prizes will be awarded:
1st Place
2nd Place
3rd Place
Honorable Mention (five will be given out)
Students will collect their coloring sheets, ribbons, and prizes from Mrs. Byrd next week.

Cross Country Update: The HS & MS Cross Country Meet at Van Buren has been cancelled for today. The Mustangs will return to action on Thursday at our Mustang Invitational being held at the Mustang Sports Complex and DC Fairgrounds.
