The High School Science Department wants to present a challenge to the high school science students!
Using the Periodic Table:
- You may look up a copy of the Periodic Table or use your own!
- Create words from the symbols (example: Nitrogen gives you the letter N and Oxygen gives you the letter O, creating the word NO)
- Create sentences from the created words
- The symbols must stay in the appropriate letter case (upper versus lower). Refer to the periodic table for help.
Your goal is to create as many words and sentences as possible. Provide a list of the words created as well as the sentences you formulated from your created words!
Feel free to take a picture to share and show your work! #Mustangsloveachallenge

A little note to our kitchen staff... thank you! #Mustangsloveachallenge

Davis County is one of several districts that has partnered with nonprofit companies across Iowa to make parts for face shields that are desperately needed by health care professionals. Mr. Brus has been working each day to make these parts which are then sent to Des Moines where the face shields are put together. Thanks for your hard work, Mr. Brus! #Mustangsloveachallenge

Music Booster Fundraiser Status: All order forms and money have been turned in at this point to our knowledge. The delivery is delayed at this point due to the school closure. The Boosters and directors will be working with the fundraising company and the school to establish a new delivery date when we have a safe location to distribute the items and can safely send students to peoples homes to deliver. We do not know that date yet. We will be making an announcement on the “Davis County High School Band” Facebook page, the school website and Facebook page, and an email to all of our students and parents that have provided the school an email.
Thank you everyone for your patience. This is just one of many things that is up in the air at this time and we will work through it the best we can. Thank you to everyone for your support of the Music Boosters!

Here are the other pictures....I am not sure why they did not upload with the previous post.

Attention Elementary Parents -
In an attempt to streamline our efforts to support voluntary learning at the PK and elementary level during the closure, teachers are developing some suggested weekly activities for our PK through 4th grade students. Please check out the new link with suggested weekly learning activities located on our DC School District Website. Elementary Resources - Suggested weekly activities by grade level! When you open that link you will find a folder for every grade level with suggested activities in all content areas that can be used to support your child’s continued learning anytime during the week. These plans will be updated on Monday of every week moving forward. You can also refer back to look at previous weekly plans. As always you can contact your child’s classroom teacher if you have any questions!

Seniors,
Please know that we will continue to work on making graduation a special occasion. There will be more information posted soon. Check out the football stadium. The lights will be on every Friday evening from 8:00-8:20pm to honor the Class of 2020. Miss seeing you all!

Get outside and build a snowman! Build it in your front yard (if you can) so people can drive by to see your work while maintaining safe social distance. Post a picture of your work with #mustangsloveachallenge

Fourth grade teachers accepted a challenge put forth by The Getty Museum in Los Angeles, and now they want you to join the fun. Work with your family to put everyday items you have at home to new use as you recreate a classic painting. Post your pictures with #mustangsloveachallenge. Have fun and be safe!

Seniors and spring sports participants, please check your email for a survey from Mrs. Mason for the yearbook.
Also, the yearbook staff would like to thank those who have shared photos and stories of high school students from over the break. We'd love to know what you've been up to! Please consider emailing photos to brooke.mason@dcmustangs.com to help us with our Corona-cation coverage!
